About

The Automobile Association Philippines’ Motorsport Development Program (MSDP) is a grassroots motorsports training program geared towards novice drivers. It covers topics such as driving technique, safety, vehicle dynamics, physical and mental fitness, and race car preparation through modules.
Each module involves classroom lectures and practical hands-on training, and is taught by none other than 10-time National Rally Champion Vip Isada and his team of experienced instructors.
What started as a small program several years ago, the MSDP has now become the ‘go-to course’ where new students learn race craft and where more experienced drivers assess and confirm their abilities. The MSDP has gone across the country, teaching advanced driving skills and introducing the rudiments of motorsport in several cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
The MSDP has produced international champion drivers like Mark Bernales, Estefano Rivera. It has also showcased the talents of many budding female racers, with drivers such as Gabie Desales, Hazel Ramirez honing their skills in this program.
Novice drivers are more than welcome to sign up. No prior racing experience is required.
Scheduled alongside the training modules is the MSDP Gymkhana Series. The top drivers per locale earns an invite to the National Gymkhana Finals at the end of the year. The finalists will face off using one-make school cars to determine the best grassroots racer in the Philippines.
